Judging criteria

How entries are scored

Each entry is judged out of 20 total points. Judges listen for how closely the performance matches the reference sample, how much beatbox ability is shown, and how cleanly the raw recording captures the performance.

10pts

Accuracy

Out of 10 points

How well the beatbox performance resembles the reference sample. Judges consider the tone, rhythm, timing, phrasing, and overall likeness of the recreated sound.

5pts

Skill

Out of 5 points

The beatboxer's actual capability and control. Judges consider range, sound vocabulary, technical execution, tempo control, transitions, and command of the performance.

5pts

Quality

Out of 5 points

How clean the recording is without effects. Noisy backgrounds score low, studio-level clarity scores high, and added effects diminish the quality score because raw performance is preferred.

Total: 20 points

A strong entry sounds close to the reference, shows real beatbox control, and is recorded cleanly without production effects covering the raw performance.
